This Pioneer Elite VSX-29TX came to Big Cat Audio with an audible transformer buzz that we traced to its standby power supply. Using voltage measurements, circuit isolation, and inspection, we narrowed the problem to C6005, a 1000µF filter capacitor showing signs of leakage. After replacing the capacitor and confirming the correct polarity, the buzzing stopped and the receiver returned to normal operation. This repair shows why careful diagnosis matters: a noise that appeared to come from the transformer was resolved by replacing a failing component in the surrounding circuit.
