Santana’s history stretches back to 1966, with the band helping establish a lasting fusion of rock, jazz, and Latin music. Their appearance at the 1969 Woodstock festival became a landmark in that early career, showcasing the percussion-driven sound and expressive guitar work associated with the Santana name. Highlights include “The Game of Love” featuring Michelle Branch, “You Are My Kind” with Seal, “Amoré (Sexo)” with Macy Gray, and “Why Don’t You & I” featuring Chad Kroeger. Additional collaborations include Citizen Cope on “Sideways,” Dido on “Feels Like Fire,” and Plácido Domingo on “Novus.” Instrumental selections such as “Adouma” and “Victory Is Won” place Santana’s guitar playing at the forefront.
